Thomson Dairies are a local, family run dairy, which was founded in 2007 by William Thomson. We have quickly grown through the years to be a well established family business, focusing on providing a quality level of product and service to a continually growing customer base. We aim to give our customers the opportunity to experience great, traditional milk delivery service by local milkmen, rather than having to go to large multi-national businesses who stack poor products high and sell them cheap.
We have always been a family-owned dairy delivery business and since inception we have made lots of changes to make the buying process much easier for our customers. We have developed modern ways for our customers to amend and change their order, check to see any special deals we have throughout the year and also alternate the payments made.
Thomson Dairies initially supplied the local people of Shotts in North Lanarkshire, but as the business popularity grew, so did the customer base and distribution run. William saw potential in the growing doorstep delivery market and was able to turn Thomson Dairies into a successful doorstep delivery company. We have now grown to be one of the leading independent dairy companies throughout the central belt of Scotland, the North East, Inverness-shire, Perth and the surrounding areas – recently acquiring new local delivery runs with continued expansion of the firm.
Combining the best of traditional values with innovative methods – to ensure its service is as fresh as its product – Thomson Dairies is now online. The doorstep delivery service combines all that is great about the traditional milk round, with a relevant, hassle-free online service and an extended range of products. Modernising the image of the milk round, we make sure that it is not just milk that our dairy delivers, but a full range of fridge and store cupboard essentials that would normally call for a trip to the local shop or involve lifting heavy items.
Thomson Dairies is dedicated to reducing food miles and working with local farms and suppliers, with all our milk produce sourced from within a 30 mile radius of the dairy and other essentials like bread and eggs also coming from local suppliers.
